OMG, New York mag totally just wrote about the fact that I see vulvas everywhere now after my photographer Kelly Kline and I took pictures of so many of them for Body Drama)!

It’s super true - I have been known to point out to my husband a vulva here, a vulva there, a vulva EVERYWHERE! Never, however, has a business design rung as true to the vulva and as predictable cross-country as the vulva-esque lighting at The Cheesecake Factory!

Here’s an example:

I first noticed it with my best friend Julian Breece at the Boston Cheesecake Factory, where, as a college student, we’d go rather frequently (their portions are huge and we would split a dish and still find it hard to finish…an issue that I also talk about regarding restaurant portioning on page 212 of Body Drama). That was well over five years ago, but the restaurant’s lighting, fascinatingly, has remained the same all these years, through quite a few renovations.

Aren’t they TOTALLY awesome? I wish they sold these lights alongside their Oreo cheesecakes, I’d totally buy them both, invite my girls over, and have a little party.

The pictures come from their site’s tour of a California Cheesecake Factory, but I’ve seen the same decor at every one I’ve ever been to!
